58% PAKISTANI ARE LITERATE

A study done by Federal Bureau Statistics on Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) Survey 2010-11 has revealed the following statistics related to education. 

*Literacy-population 10 years and older:

Literacy rate of Pakistan is about 58% of population, age group 10 years and above. At provisional level 60% Punjab while, Balochistan is 41% which is less among all provinces. 

* Adult literacy-population 15 years and older:

Adult literacy rate in Pakistan is about 55% of population, age group 15 years and above, while at province level Sindh is 58%, 37% in Balochistan which is lowest among all provinces.

*Pakistanis those had ever attended school: 

The statistics revealed that the overall literacy rate of Pakistan is 60%. Whereas the data depicts literacy growth of Punjab is 63% followed by 60% in Sindh, 53% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), and 42% in Balochistan.

*Pakistanis that has completed primary or higher level of education:

The statistics shows that overall 49% Pakistanis are getting education till primary or higher level. Whereas provisional finding reveals that Punjab and Sindh has 52% Pakistanis, 41% from KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and 32% are from Balochistan are getting education till primary or higher level. 

*Gross enrolment rate at the primary level (age 5-9) by province (excluding katchi class):

The statistics shows that the gross enrolment rate in Pakistan at the primary level age 5-9 (excluding katchi class) is 74%, while 98% in Punjab the highest rate among all provinces, 89 % in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa),84% in Sindh and 32% in Balochistan.

*Gross enrolment rate at the primary level (age 6-10) by province (excluding katchi class):

The gross enrolment rate of Pakistan is 91% at the primary level age 6-10 (excluding katchi class), while at provisional level 98% in Punjab, 89% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 82% in Sindh and 75% in Balochistan.

*Gross enrolment rate at the primary level (age 4-9) by province (including katchi class):

The data shows that the gross enrolment rate in Pakistan at the primary level (age 4-9) by province (including katchi class) is 91%, whereas at provisional level its 99% in Punjab which is highest one at provisional level, 91% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 78% in Sindh and 67% in Balochistan.

*Gross enrolment rate for govt. Primary level (age 5-9) by province (excluding katchi class):

The statistics shows that the gross enrolment rate of Pakistan for Government primary level school (age 5-9) by province (excluding katchi class) is 63%, while at provisional level 70% Balochistan followed by 68% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 62% in Punjab and 59% in Sindh.  

*Net enrolment rate at the primary level (age 5-9) by province (excluding katchi class):

The net enrolment rate in Pakistan is 56% at primary level age 5-9 (including katchi class). 61% in Punjab, 53% in Sindh, 51% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and lowest one is 47% in Balochistan.New Picture (2)

*Net enrolment rate at the primary level (age 6-10) by province (excluding katchi class): 

The statistics revealed that the net enrolment rate in Pakistan is 61%, at the primary level age 6-10 (excluding katchi class). In provinces Punjab has 70%; KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 64%, Sindh 62% and 52% in Balochistan.

*Net enrolment rate at the primary level (age 5-9) by province (including katchi class):

The net enrolment rate in Pakistan is 61% at the primary level age 5-9 (including katchi class).68% in Punjab, 58% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 52% in Sindh and 44% in Balochistan.

*Net enrolment rate in govt. Primary level (age 5-9) by province (excluding katchi class):

The net enrolment rate in Pakistan is 37% for Government primary level age 5-9 (excluding katchi class). At provisional level Balochistan has the highest enrolment rate i.e.44% followed by 38% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 37% in Sindh and 36% Punjab the lowest one.

*Gross enrolment rate at the middle level (age 10-12) – by province: 

The gross enrolment rate of Pakistan is 54% at middle level age 10-12. The highest is 58% in Punjab, followed by 57% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 48% in Sindh and 35% in Balochistan.

 *Gross enrolment rate at the middle level (age 11-13) – by province: 

At the middle level the gross enrolment rate of Pakistan is 62%, age is 11-13. While 64% in Punjab and KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Sindh 59% and Balochistan 45%.

*Net enrolment rate at the middle level (age 10-12) – by province:

In Pakistan 20% is the net enrolment rate at the primary middle level age 10-12. While 23%, is in Punjab 19% in Sindh, 17% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and 13% in Balochistan.

*Net enrolment rate at the middle level (age 11-13) – by province:

The net enrolment rate of Pakistan is 35% at the middle level, age 11-13. While 37%, is in punjab,36% in Sindh, 33% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and 25% in Balochistan.

*Gross enrolment rate at the matric level (age 13-14)-by province:

The gross enrolment rate of Pakistan is 57% at the matric level, age 13-14. While at provisional level Punjab 61%,55% in Sindh, 54% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and 38% in Balochistan.

*Gross enrolment rate at the matric level (age 14-15)-by province:

The gross enrolment rate of Pakistan is 55% at the matric level, age between 14-15. Whereas at provisional level, 59% in punjab, 52% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), 50% in Sindh and 34% in Balochistan.

*Net enrolment rate at the matric level (age 13-14)-by province:

In Pakistan the net enrolment rate at the matric level, age group 13-14 is 12%. While 14% is in Punjab, 11% in Sindh, 7% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), and 6% in Balochistan. 

*Net enrolment rate at the matric level (age 14-15)-by province: 

In Pakistan the net enrolment rate at the matric level is 25% ages 14-15 and at provisional level 23% in Punjab and Sindh, 19% in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and 14% in Balochistan.
